YourPlay, the Victorian Government’s pre-commitment scheme, empowers players to make informed decisions about their gaming machine play.
The scheme allows them to:
- set limits of time or money spent
- keep track of their own gaming machine play across Victoria.
YourPlay operates on all gaming machines in the state, including those at the Melbourne casino.

Independent Evaluation report released
The Minister for Gaming and Liquor Regulation released the South Australian Centre for Economic Studies evaluation report on YourPlay, accepting all 23 recommendations to strengthen Victoria’s voluntary pre-commitment scheme.
The report shows players who use YourPlay have experienced benefits from YourPlay, but the scheme could be improved with better communications, promotion and data reporting, increased staff training and stronger regulations.
The Department of Justice and Community Safety is working with the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation and the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission to implement the recommendations from the evaluation.

About YourPlay
Many people who gamble have strategies to keep the amount of time or money they spend gambling in check. Pre-commitment is a tool to help them do this.
YourPlay is Victoria’s pre-commitment scheme, and it is available on all gaming machines in the state.
YourPlay is free and voluntary for players to use. However, it is mandatory for gaming venues to make YourPlay available in every gaming venue across Victoria.
The YourPlay scheme commenced on 1 December 2015. Your Play is delivered by Intralot Gaming Services Pty Ltd, under the monitoring licence.
The regulatory and legal framework
The Gambling Regulation Act 2003 (External link) and the Gambling Regulation (Pre-commitment and Loyalty Scheme) Regulations 2014 establish the regulatory framework for the pre-commitment scheme.
Both are available on the Victorian Legislation website (External link)
Technical standards have been developed for the pre-commitment system and other equipment essential to the delivery of pre-commitment. The Victorian Player Account Equipment Technical Standard for player account equipment and the Victorian Pre-commitment System Requirements Standard are available on the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission website (External link)
The government has entered into a commercial agreement with Intralot Gaming Services Pty Ltd (Intralot) for the delivery of pre-commitment. Amendments were made to Intralot’s monitoring licence in May 2014 and a pre-commitment related agreement was entered into in July 2014.
The monitoring licence is published on the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission website (External link)
