On 20 April 2021, Mr Iddles OAM, APM concluded his appointment as the Community Safety Trustee (the Trustee) after a four-year term.
The Trustee’s role was to provide expert independent advice to the government about community safety and the delivery of key parts of the government’s reforms and record investment, including regular reports and advice on the implementation of Community Safety Statement reforms.
The Trustee’s final report was published on 3 May 2021.
In his final report, the Trustee commended the efforts of both Victoria Police and the Department of Justice and Community Safety to progress the implementation of approximately $3 billion of investment in Community Safety Statement initiatives since 2017.
