Corrections Victoria has partnered with the award-winning I Catch Killers podcast to produce an exclusive series that goes behind prison walls.
Hosted by former homicide detective Gary Jubelin, I Catch Killers is ranked #3 in Australian True Crime. Gary tells the stories of criminologists, lawyers, forensic experts and ex-prisoners and is passionate about supporting people in prison to become better community members.
The series takes listeners behind the walls with first-hand accounts:
- Indigenous AFL star and former person in custody, Andrew Krakouer, followed in his family’s footy legacy before being sent to jail in 2008 after a violent incident. He describes how his elite football career disappeared overnight and talks about his remarkable journey to redemption.
- From a challenging childhood and being homeless to a career in the Australian Defence Force before being incarcerated twice, Clint is proof your past does not define you. Now an Aboriginal Wellbeing Officer at Barwon Prison where he was a former person in custody, Clint assists First Nations prisoners with their reintegration into the community.
- After spending 27 years working as a nurse in aged care, mental health and with children, Kylie joined her partner Fiona as a prison officer at Loddon Prison and is passionate about being a female role model in the industry.
